Pre-paid Funerals

Pre-paid funeral packages assist in relieving the emotional strain and financial burden upon your family. Allow yourself the peace of mind knowing arrangements have been taken care of prior to the date of service. Our team will assist in planning the memorial in complete detail to ensure your wishes are honoured in a fitting tribute.

Pre-arranged funerals are also available for those wishing to plan their memorial service ahead of time but are unable to prepay. We are flexible in making adjustments to your funeral arrangements at any stage.

Dailey Family Funerals will guide you throughout the process with care.

Funeral Bond

Dailey Family Funerals provide assistance in facilitating the setup and implementation of a funeral bond for your family.
A funeral bond will set aside funds to cover the costs of a funeral, providing benefits upon the untimely death of your loved one, to the nominated benefactor. A Funeral Bond is a great way to invest an amount towards items that can't be included in a Prepaid Funeral (third-party items such as wake costs, headstones etc). This ensures the amount you choose is set aside for the purpose of assisting to cover those items when the time comes.
In some circumstances, a
hybrid plan may be the best option to ensure all your needs are met and covered.

Step One

Arranging your Funeral

Our Funeral Directors will explain the options available to design and personalize your service, as well as the costs involved. Some very important options to consider include:

  • Whether you wish to be buried or cremated
  • The style of service you would prefer (such as a full church service, a celebration of life, a memorial service or a no attendance service)
  • The location of the service (such as a church, chapel, or at a local place of significance to you)
  • The type, colour and design of your coffin or casket
  • Your flower preferences including type and colours
  • Service booklets
  • A personalised photo presentation
  • Newspaper notices
  • An after-funeral gathering or catering.

Step Two

Payment Options

Pre-paying not only ensures that your funeral will be carried out exactly as you have requested - it also locks in the price. Once your contract is signed and lodged,
we will honour these prices regardless of if the costs increase (with the exception of burial costs).

You can choose from the following two options:

1. Upfront Payment in Full

This can be paid at the time of signing the contract.

2. Instalments

An initial deposit is paid, then regular weekly, fortnightly, or monthly payments over 1, 2 or 3 years.

Step Three

My Final Wishes

Dailey Family Funerals supply a free booklet (My Final Wishes) that allows you to take note of the many additional options for your funeral that the basic pre-paid does not cover. For example:

  • Hymn or music preferences
    Preferred poems and readings
  • Any other personal requests to be honoured (dove or balloon release for example)

Complimentary booklets are available at each of our Funeral Home locations, or a PDF copy can be downloaded directly from our website.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my family have to pay more money?

No - once you have paid in full for your funeral at today’s prices, there is no more to pay. The only exception would be if your family choose to alter the funeral details.

(eg. If you opted not to have a Newspaper notice in your prepaid arrangements, but your family decide to have one – they will incur the cost of the ad).

Can I cancel or transfer my contract?

Current legislation prevents the withdrawal of pre-paid monies deposited into funeral funds until the time of death. However, your arrangements can be transferred to another funeral director, should you move away from the Newcastle area (Please note though, a surcharge would apply).

How is my Pre-Paid Funeral Contract claimed?

When the time comes, a family member or personal representative simply contacts the Funeral Home, and the arrangements, as detailed in your contract, are carried out. Once we provide evidence that the service has taken place, the funds are paid out  by the Investment Company, to the Funeral Home.

What if the Funeral Home goes out of business?

If your funeral director ceases to trade, the value of your Prepaid Funeral Plan is protected as the monies held in the Funeral Benefit Fund are in your name.

There is also provision in the contract for the service to be conducted by another funeral director.

Funds will only be released to pay for your funeral costs upon evidence that the service has been provided and cannot be used for other purposes.

Where is my money held?

Your money is not held by the Funeral Home but rather by an independent investment Company. Foresters Financial is a proud Australian member-owned investment and insurance financial services organisation with over 170 years in the business.
